Managing Your Object Groups

Use the Groups page to review and manage the object groups created for indexing your cloud-storage files.

The Groups page organizes all of the object groups that you have permission to view. From main list page, you can review information about the group configuration, settings, interval information, creation date, and indexing information such as the status, whether indexing events have occurred, and the date of the last index operation. You can start or stop indexing for one or more object groups.

Like the Storage page, the Groups page includes controls for sorting the groups in ascending and descending order, as well as refreshing the list of groups.

No Groups Tab?

The Groups tab is a UI optional configuration, and some clusters might not have one. If your cluster does not display a Groups tab, go to the Storage tab to access the object group management and display features. The Storage tab pages appear slightly different than the sample Groups pages.

From the Groups page, you can quickly scan the indexing status status and event issues. The Status column displays whether the group is Indexed, Not Indexed, Idle, or Paused.

The Events column displays status icons for possible indexing issues in the object groups:

  • A red caution icon indicates a failure condition to investigate.
  • A yellow caution icon indicates an invalid format error to investigate.

Hover the mouse pointer over the events icon to display a pop-up message with more information. You can also click the object group name and review the Events tab for more information on the problems.

Searching for an Object Group

If your site has a large number of object groups, you can search for groups using the search/filter window in the left menu. Type a string in the Search Groups field. The search performs a case-insensitive match and displays only the object groups that contain the string. For example, searching for the string part reduces the list to the object groups that contain that string.
